Sept. 29, 2006

1:45 P.M. Well we got some things straighten out yesterday, the insurance is only going to pay another week or so of therapy, and Stacey will come home, they will pay for day rehab. which means that I will take her to St.Louis for her rehab. therapy unless they find a closer rehab that the insurance will approve of,they are looking into this now, but for now this is the best I could do for her, I think it is the best because this way she will still be getting the rehab. she needs and everything else she needs I can give her here at home, then I won't have to worry about her. Thank you everyone for everything, prayers, the continuous support, and for just being there for us. God Bless.

Sept. 27, 2006

10:30 P.M. I am very sorry for not getting back on yesterday but I was waiting on the doctor to get back with me, but he was unable to due to other emergency's he needed to take care of. But I was finally able to talk to him late this evening, he was really excited to see all the improvements Stacey was making, but he said the issue with the insurance company may be another thing, he was saying the insurance company had spoke with him today and is pushing for home care, but he is doing everything possible to try and keep her as long as possible because she is making progress but he said he deals with them so much that they will get ther way but he is going to push this as far as he can. He was also worried that Stacey is continuing to lose weight she has dropped 6 pounds just in the last week making her 115 lbs. he said he was trying everything to try and stop the diarrhea it seems all they are giving her is going straight threw and only some is getting to her system, but he is working with the problem. Both arms looked good the left arm that they did surgery on is starting to form calcium on the rod and tissues is starting to form around it. The collar bone is still broken and is taking it's time to heal, he says that may be where some of her pain is coming from, but is giving meds threw a patch on her arm, because he is not wanting to give her any pain medication due to it may sit her back. He also said if she can go for three days without running a fever he may take the trek out, but for right now he wanted to wait. Stacey had a long day today, after therapy was over I took her out side for a little while, she was doing a lot of moving so I had to make it short due I thought she was going to wiggle out of the chair. I also notice she was starting to run a fever again, it started slow but it was up to 101.9 when I left this evening, I'm really hoping it's not nothing else popping up. So that's all for this evening, hopefully will have more good news tomorrow. God Bless.

Sept. 26, 2006

2:00 P.M. Celebration time they are going to keep her, but the stipulation is they are going to keep evaluating her every week until she shows enough improvement that they can start scheduling on a long time bases. She seemed to be more alert today, spending more time looking at me then closing her eyes and looking somewhere else. Have not talked to doctor yet so will update a little later this evening about the ex-rays on her arms and the infections. God Bless.

Sept. 25, 2006

10:00 P.M. Well today was another adventure, they left her in bed today due to she is having bad diarrhea again she does have another infection, also a bladder infection, they have her on two different antibiotics, they tried at least twelve times to get another iv started but each time they kept blowing her veins, they finally got one in. They also was giving her ice chips today and said she was doing good on eating and swallowing them, so hopefully they will move to something else soon. They took ex-rays of both arms today the one that had surgery was swollen and the other arm they said she was having a lot of pain, if they went past a 90 degree angle with it. Tomorrow will be the day we find everything out especially if they will keep her or not, but with all the progress she has done the last few days, I'm almost sure they will keep her. Keep your fingers crossed. God Bless.

Sept. 24, 2004

10:00 P.M. Today was another very good day, Stacey was sleeping when I got up there today but it wasn't long before she woke up and started moving those legs around. The nurses said also that she was moving her left arm around today. She was even trying to pull out her folly catheter, which is not good but it does mean she is jumping to the next faze. She seems to be making up for some lost time, if she keeps going like this it won't be long before she is up and out of there. I am going to talk to the doctors tomorrow, she is chewing on the inside of her cheek and started biting her lips I think she is ready for food, and she is letting them know about it, so I'm going to talk to them to see if we can start giving her something to eat like pudding or jello, they will probably take the trek out also. Well not much to say except hopefully will have more good news tomorrow. God Bless.

Sept. 23, 2006

10:30 P.M. Well today was a very memorable day, the bike run was great, and to everyone that showed up, and to all who donated, and to all who made this a success, especially (Loretta & Bill & Jammie & Jimmy) THANK YOU !!! I know no thanks are needed but these days you need to say it because very few times that you live in places that has a community that cares like this one, I am PROUD to say I live in a little town like New Haven. Also THANK YOU everyone for the support the prays and for being there. We went to the hospital today after the bike run and we got another surprise, Stacey had her eyes open and moving her legs and was actually watching us as we moved around the room, they even capped her trek and we even heard her make noises today, it was the best day ever, I really don't think I could of asked for a better day. After what we seen today I very seriously doubt that they will send her home, she is taking the steps towards what we are praying for, please keep the prayers a going because we are finally seeing the lords healing. May the lord bless all of your households and keep you all safe. THANKS AGAIN!

Sept. 21, 2006

8:30 P.M. I was not able to go up today to see stacey, I think I have the flu, and I did not want to take this to her. I did call three times today everything they had her in therapy except for this last call I made, not much change she was still pretty well sleeping threw all of it. They had her laying down this afternoon, and tonight they gave her another shower before putting her down for the evening. They did not give her medicine to wake her up today, and they was not sure about tomorrow, was not able to find out about the infection, because the doctors can only tell me and I was unable to go up today, not sure if I will go up tomorrow, I really hate to take this to her right now, maybe Saturday after the bike run if I am feeling better, will try and have doctor call me tomorrow if I don't go up. God Bless.

Sept. 20, 2006

10:30 P.M. Sorry this report for the evening is so late, but I try to stay with her as much as possible threw the day, going to therapy with her, plus I am taking classes to help me better understand what's going on with her now, and later as we go threw all the changes she will be going threw, and being able to recognize all of them without me freaking out all the time. Today they was able to find a suitable chair for her so she's not all over the place, they but her clothes and shoes on today it looked really good to see her like that with her clothes on and sitting up. Therapy worked with her pretty well all day, but there was little response unfortunately, she just wanted to sleep, they are going to try a few combination of medicines so it will hopefully wake her up and keep her awake threw the day, but they are trying to be real careful about doing this because to much may stimulate her to much and set her back instead of waking her up. I think they said they was going to try this tomorrow or Friday I'm not for sure. Still no reports back yet on if there is another infection going on. They said they wasn't for sure but her white blood cells may be elevated due to the spleen being gone, with it being gone there is nothing to take care of all the dead ones plus the extra ones she does not need, so they said that could be a possibility. But like I said they are still not taking any chances and checking everything out to be on the safe side, they said they do not what anymore set backs if they can prevent it.Things are still on go for me to be there Saturday for the bike run, would like everyone to pass the world along, like I said I really would like all her friends to be there so we can take pictures and do the video for her so she can see it, maybe just the thing to pull her out, God Willing, I know her friends was everything to her. To all who has helped with this THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart, I can or will never be able to thank everyone enough for all your support again Thank You, and God Bless. The reports may be late like this for the next week, but I will keep updating for you.

Sept. 19, 2006

2:00 P.M. Well today they have had her up three times and even gave her a shower in stead of a bed bath she looks so much better. She seems to be sleeping a lot there are not sure why but there are going to do more tests on her they think she may have another infection going on because she is starting to run higher fevers and still has diarrhea. They are giving her some kind of solids of rice and something else threw the tube to see if that may take care of some of the diarrhea. But we will have to wait on the results to see if she has any other infections going on. Again thank you everyone and God Bless.

Sept. 18, 2006

3:00 P.M. Well they are just now moving her to rehab. she seems to be a little more awake today. I was able to bring all her things up today to the room, she is now in room 382, there is still no change with the infection they are still having no visitors at this time. They are saying Stacey needs to make a big improvement in this next week or this will have to go back to the nursing home option,or I should say home option, So everyone pray super hard that she starts making some major improvements so they will keep her in rehab. so she can continue to make the improvements that she needs, but if not pray they will not fight with me about bring her home. Thank so much to everyone for your continues support. God Bless.

Sept 16, 2006

6:00 p.m. I'm sorry that I didn't get to update the site yesterday. The Doctors changed their mind about sending stacey to the nursing home she is going to be moved to rehab (Yee Haw) first thing Monday morning. Today Ray and I decided to bug her until she responded to us. It worked somewhat we pat her hands, and rubbed her feet and legs, and called her name loudly and she started moving all over the place (we think she was trying to get up and find a quiet place to sleep). Ray would help her open her eyes up all the way and she would keep them open for a little while after he let go but they would slowly start going shut again. I think she wants them open but she just can't seem to keep them open wide enough to see good. When they were open she would look us right in the eyes while we talked to her. As soon as she gets moved to rehab and the infection is gone and she is allowed visitors we will let everyone know. If anyone has anymore promise scriptures please "comment" us and please continue to pray for Stacey and us.

Sept. 14, 2006

2:30 P.M. Well last night they moved Stacey to the Nero Ward on the Third Floor room 318 Stacey is still not over her infection so no visitors are allowed yet they say it may be another week before it fully clears up. Not much to report today except they are talking about moving her to a nursing home, which they were not very happy with me, especially after they had mentioned this to me, so I guess I need to have a talk with a few people about moving her home, if they are not going to do any more with her, her best chances is to be at home. I did six years as CNA and CMT work plus 6 months into my career for an RN which unfortunately I never finished, but I worked with a lot of patients so I feel I am more skilled than a nursing home, that more than likely will let her rot in bed. Plus I am bound and determined she is going to snap out of this one way or another, hopefully if I can get her home I can work with her more that I get to now. But I will continue this next few weeks to keep everyone informed and what is going to happen and when she is allowed visitor's also wanted to let everyone know that Loretta has sit up the ride for Stacey Sept. 23 starting at 8 A.M. and the ride starts at noon, but would like all her friends to come down we are going to video tape it for her so she can see all of her friends.Thank You again to everyone that has been there for me and Ray even the little commits makes a big difference thank you everyone please keep the prayers a coming and God Bless.

Sept, 13. 2006

5 P.M. Well this morning Stacey was all over the place we had to keep pulling her up in the bed. Then the nurses came in and made her sit up in bed she was not very happy with this. About 1 P.M. Stacey had a feeding tube put in threw her belly she was not very happy about this either. It took untill now and four different pain meds to acutually get her to relax. But for the rest of the evening she should be resting comfortable.

This is the picture she used for the Miss Teen Mo.

Sep. 12, 2006

11:30 A.M. Well when I came in this morning she seemed to be wide awake and alert, I'm not sure if this is wishful thinking but it really seemed liked she was looking at me and knew I was there, it felt really good she even squeezed my hand, but then they came in and gave her some pain medication, so she went back to sleep on me. Then Rehab. came in and set her up on side of bed there was one brief moment where she seemed to be actually holding her head up on her own, but she didn't last long she was sweating up a storm like she had just ran 2 miles. Did not get to talk to Doctors this morning but it may look like she may be snapping out of it. At least I hope she is and its not wishful thinking on my part. But will try to update again this evening. God Bless. 5:00 P.M. Well this afternoon has been an interesting one, Stacey stayed awake for most of the afternoon she was moving around a lot and still keeping her eyes on me and not letting go of me, she even rearranged her hand not once but twice in my hand as to say, she didn't like the way I was holding her hand, it has been a very good afternoon for me.Thank You So Much For The Prayers and Please Keep them coming it does look like there is sunlight at the end of this tunnel.

Sept 11, 2006

11:00 p.m. Stacey's still has a low grade fever but her plattlet count is doing better and it seems the antibiotics are working. She is still unconcious but the trama team is going to try getting her out of bed and setting her up. They hope this will aid in waking her and help clear her lungs of the last of the pnumonia. They took the chest tube out today and she seems to be doing fine without it. If this all goes smooth they will try to move her from ICU. It seems that every infection is a setback and every medical problem stops any progress she might make. The doctors are doing what they can but the best medicine is your prayers. I want to thank everyone for their support it means much more than you know.

Sept 9, 2006

There is basically no change from yesterday. They have identified the infection and are treating it.

Sept 8, 2006*

9:00 p.m. Stacey is still having a lot of problems with the infection. Her temperature, heart rate, and respiration are fluctuating alot. Her blood pressure is running kind of low.

Sept. 8, 2006

10:00 A.M. Well I was right it was a long night. Stacey has a infection running threw her, they are not sure if thats all. Still running high fevers and respir. and blood pressure. They have done cultures, but they won't be ready untill tommorrow. They are going to run some test today to make sure she does not have any blood clots anywhere, so will have to wait for answers, will try to update this evening. God Bless, and thanks for all the prayers.

Thursday, September 07, 2006

Sept. 7, 2006

11:30 A.M. This morning everything is about the same, they checked her chest tube and pulled it down a ways to her lower part of her lung to drain some more of fluid that is still in there. No room yet they say it may be awhile, they do to not enough rooms for all of the head traumas. The doctors are still not giving me in answers about when she may wake up they say they are not sure even if they take hundreds of CAT scan they are not able to tell it is left up to her. Which I really can not understand. With all of our tech. Today you would think they could tell me something. But I guess this is were having patience is a virtue. God Bless. Will try and write more later. 8:00 P.M. This afternoon Stacey took a step backwards, her blood pressure and respiration went up following a fever that are still trying to break. After three pain meds they have finally lowered her blood pressure, but it looks like we are in for a long night, they have taken some blood to kinda see what may be going on. I got to meet one of the rehab doctors tonight they are saying that instead of moving her to step-down they are going to move her to rehab. Which is the next step from the step-down unit, which I think is a good thing, they said they really need to start working with her to get her woke up, no more laying still they are really going to start up on poking and prodding her to get her to respond this works. But they say it will be a while they are still waiting on beds to open up.

Sept. 6, 2006

6 P.M. I'm sorry it took me so long to give a report but I wanted to wait to see how things turned out. Well as of today Stacey is off all tubes and IV's she still has her trek in but she is officially breathing on her own also took all pain medication away from her. She only has a feeding tube in and they are getting ready to take out the chest tubes also. All vitals look good,at times she has gotten a little restless, but they say she is still having some pain but they are wanting her to fell it. Stacey has made movements and is able to open her eyes, to me this was a very good thing and to anyone else it is, but the doctors are telling me not to get excited because she is not really awake, even tho she lookes like she trying to talk or looking at U. Doctors say there is still no response from her to make them believe that she has come out of this. But I know she will surprise them like she has so many times before. They are going to move her to step-down icu as soon as a room opens up, they say they have done all they can do for her in critical icu. I have received a lot of calls and emails to see if they can come and see Stacey when she moves to step-down, and I know everyone is excited to see her, but for right now until she actually wakes up I still ask everyone be patient because when Stacey wakes up I'm sure she is going to want everyone to come up and see her then. Thank you to everyone for everything and hopfully next few days we will have better news. God Bless

Sept. 5, 2006

11:00 A.M. Stacey did really good all night, she is starting to get more strength back to her to cough that stuff up. They say that as soon as they get a room that they are going to move her to Step-Down ICU, which is a good thing, I think. It just worries me with the trek in and her coughing that she don't get choked, but they know what they are doing, not much to say this morning except all looks good. Will try and give another update this evening. Thank You for all the prayers and please keep them going, the good lord has still alot to do for her. And I pray for giving me the support of so many wonderful people, that he blesses all of your households as well. Thank You Again!

Sept. 4, 2006

9:30 A.M. This morning Stacey is still sleeping, they went ahead and and took most of the ventalater away from her she is breathing on her own with only 10% assentance, which they say hopefully by this afternoon they will have her all on her own. They are going to try and take most of her tubes out today they say everything is lookinhg good. They are hopping they more they get her to due as far as breathing, and taking more of the pain medication away that it will hopefully trigger her to wake up. I'm really hopping so. But they said if no response that they will go in and do a MRI to see if they can kinda see whats going on. But for right now it the waiting game, I will try and update again this evening. 5:00 p.m. Stacey is off of the ventillator. They have her on a trak coller which is a little cup that covers the end of the trak that they run oxygen into. All the breathing is her own. The nurses said that they will probably hook the ventillator up during the night so that she can rest but that in the morning they will take it back off. If she tolerates it well they will start lowering the oxygen content on the coller until she is breathing room air on her own. The chest tubes don't seem to be draining anymore but they want to leave them in for another day or two. They lowered her pain medicine and she is still resting comfortably. Hopefully they can stop it all together tomarrow. Her condition is still considered critical but if all goes well in the next few days and with your continued prayers we will hopefully see that change to stable. At the bottom of this posting (directly below this paragraph) you will see the word "comment" in the light blue. If you click on it you can leave a comment for us or Stacey we would appreciate to hear from you.

Sept. 3, 2006

9.30 A.M. Stacey is looking alot better today, her vitals are really good. I think she is making up for some over due rest, because she hasn't moved any yet. But for know all looks good. I'm sorry for not being able to update untill the 2nd but the Ronald McDonald House was closed due to not having any volenteers show up I guess everyone wanted off for the weekend. But I was able to have ray update it for me at home, again Im very sorry. I also want to thank everyone for all the comments and everthing everyone is doing for us I can not beginn to thank everyone. I also was able to meet up with Adams parents the other day and it was a very good visit for us all. They would like to thank everyone for keeping Adam in there prayers along with Stacey. Another thing I would like to share is in today society we get so rapped up in our lifes that we forget the little things, this accident with Stacey has opened my eyes alot, I have worked alot in my life to make sure my family had everthing they needed and tried for more. After my husband passed away(Staceys Father)I took some time off to spend some time with my kids, but it didn;t last long because it seemed they was already grow up and didnt need mom any more, so I went back to work. I was able to spend a good week with Stacey before the accident due to I quit my job due to other things going on, but I was so grateful that I had that week. I guess what I'm tring to say is for adults as well as the children don't ever take for granted that there is plenty of time later, because there may not be a later. Since I have been up here I have seen so many familys that have lost there loved ones and always figured there was going to be tommorrow, please don't be caught off guard make sure you show everyone everday how you feel, with extra hugs and kisses, because today they are here but tommorrow thay may not be. I am just hopping that the good lord will give me a second chance. Thanks Agsin to everyone may the lord bless all of your households and keep you safe.

Stacy's Condition, Sept 2, 2006

6:00 p.m. Stacey had a fairly uneventful day today. After the last few she deserved it. The Pneumonia seems to be clearing up. The antibiotics are working but she is running a low grade fever (100-101 deg). The doctors say that some fever is normal after a head trauma especially in younger people but they will continue to watch her close. It seemed that she rested easy last night and that she wasn't feeling any pain. She even gave her mom a big yawn. We wanted to thank everyone for there comments it is very supportive to hear from you and as always for remembering us in your prayers.
