March 28, 2007

Well I am hoping this will go threw this time, just having so many problems with the blog not for sure what the problem is yet so I apologize। Well were to begin I guess I start with the rehab। We did get started Monday as scheduled but we ran into a problem, this facility is not set up for someone wearing diapers they can take her to the bathroom but if they need to change her for other reasons they do not have anywhere private enough to change her, so we had to stop going until they find another facility that can change her when needed. Plus they did not have the equipment she needed all they had was a stand, this is were they get her to stand in a one spot standing position for 10 to 15 minutes at a time so hopefully they will call me tomorrow with more information. We went to see the orthopedic doctor yesterday and he has ordered another MRI of her right arm because of it only going shoulder high and then she stops. We got to see the arm with the rod in it and it has healed nicely he said that they would not take the rod out until she starts having problems with it. We also seen the color bone which where it was broke it grew back together on top of the other part so her collar bone is a inch shorter than the other one, we asked if that may be why she is having problems with her right one but he said no, so that is why we are getting another MRI, it looks like to me it would hurt grown together like that but I don’t know. And tonight we got a call from Dr. Morris on her MRI and he read it to and just basically told me she still has a lot of damage in her brain, that she was really hurt as far as the brain, more than he was told by reports before, that he got from St. John’s, and I told him the good news about her talking and saying all she has. He basically told that was good news but to not get my hopes to far ahead of myself, that he has every confidence that she will come out of this, but it is not going to be something that happens overnight that she still is doing a lot of healing in the brain and it is going to take awhile. He said she will never be her old self, but she will become a new Stacey, he also told me not to get my hopes to high as far as rehab. that this was another process that was going to take another 7 to 12 months. It is just so hard sometimes you get your hopes up and the doctors are there to let you down. But I know it is for my own good that I don’t start expecting more than I should, but I am still going to keep my hopes high, I do believe the lord has given me a sign not to give up and I’m not, not for a long time, he has given me the sign to keep my faith and I am, no matter how hard it gets, and trust me at times it really gets hard. She is still saying a lot of things still, her older brother came home Tuesday she did not recognize him at first but then she started talking to him, and then she even told us his middle name which was really shocking, Rusty was a little chocked up at first when he seen her but he got over it and he tries real hard every day to be a big part of her daily activity, and he has been a great help to me and Ray, it’s nice to have him home. So I guess tonight that is all so if everything goes good I will update Sunday. Thank You and God Bless.

March 22, 2007

Well again I have to apologize for not getting everything updated on time but we are still having difficulty with the blog. So many things to tell you not for sure were to start, well as you know Monday we went and seen Dr. Wright no good news and then Monday we went to Dr. Amahad, and after going over and over with him what we wanted we finally got our approval for Rehab. from him now, we just have to get approval from Medicaid for the Rehab. but we are holding our breath. But if she gets the approval she will start at SSM Rehab. In Lake St.Louis for a day program from 10 A.M to 3 P.M and she will be home at night. So we get done with the app. And take Stacey to McDonald’s as usual after eating we started back to the house when she starts picking her fries up and eating them and says McDonalds. With not for sure if I heard her right I played along and said yes McDonalds is your favorite and she said yep Mikey D’s I just about lost it, she kept saying this all the way home. Tuesday we had a good morning Mrs. Moloney came by and worked with Stacey and it was a really good day she was following all directions for Mrs. Moloney and after that not much just things like she was hungry and thirsty for the rest of the day. Yesterday was my best day yet with her app. not until 12:45 for her MRI she was not allowed to eat or drink all morning so she was starting to get very upset with us because she kept telling us she was hungry and we were not doing anything about it she was getting more frustrated by the minute. But then out of the blue she started reading the sides of trucks and telling us the colors of them in amazement we played along with her she started counting on her own up to 20 and then back down, reading nurses name tags telling us the color of fish on a fall and telling us they were fish, I can’t name everything she was doing, but it was amazing all the things she was saying and reading, and everything it was like someone just flipped the light on for her and she is taking off. I was so afraid to wake up this morning not knowing if she would continue what she was doing but, we got up this morning and she started of again I asked her what is today and she said Thursday and I said what is tomorrow and she said Friday I again almost started crying. Even when Miss Moloney was amazed by everything she was doing this morning. I can’t believe it all I can say it is a true Miracle From God. I won’t get the results from the MRI until next week but I will update hopefully On Sunday night if everything goes good. Thank You again for all the Prayers I Know for a fact he has given us an answer. Thank You and God Bless.

March 18, 2007

4:30 P.M. I am really sorry for not getting a update last week but there was something wrong with the blog site that prevented me to update the blog but I am hoping that we have got it fixed now.Well we went to the Nerophsyologist, and didn't hear what we wanted to hear. They are saying with that everything that she is doing is not normal, that most head victims start making improvements and keep making them, and Stacey is not, she starts things and then she quits, and now with not speaking has got them even more puzzled. Dr. Wright says if they would put her with other brain injuries the same as hers she would be at the very bottom of all of them, that her recovering anymore then what she is doing now is very slim. Again he reminded us of the fact that most head trauma recover most between the first and third month, and then more between there third and sixth month, and the sixth month to the year they make some but not much improvements. Is this all she will continue to be they are not sure, from there experience she will not improve anymore but they have seen some who shock them by making great improvements years after their accident. She has been making some improvements with Mrs. Moloney by writing things down and her doing them, but again I hoping this is something we missed and that she will continue to make her improvements threw writing. We will be going to the Doctor's Monday to see if it is possible to get her in rehab. we asked Doc. Wright if her learning would affect her being able to walk again but he said he could not say for sure, so he has recommended that maybe try a Day Rehab. to see how she does to see if she will be able to learn again, but that will be left up to the Doctor to decide he may wait also for the MRI Wednesday they are really curious about what may be going on that would make here not do what she should be doing if anything. So we will see I will update tomorrow to let everyone now how it went. I would like to Thank all who said extra prayers for Ray's father Ray Sr. that went in for surgery for cancer in the ear Friday, he made it threw the six hour surgery perfectly, they are saying this time they have got all the cancer, he is still in alot of pain but this will subside soon. I would like to Thank all who has come to see Stacey, there has been so many these last few weeks, Tony and Corey from Sullivan came to see her while home on spring break, college looks good on them. And to everyone else who takes time to come by to spend a little time I know that she appreciates it to.Plus with all the flowers they bring for her, I don't think I have ever see so many flowers in my whole life, I know she enjoys them because she constantly looks at them, but it is very nice and Thank you to all. Well I guess that is it for tonight until tomorrow. Thank You and God Bless.

March 4, 2007

1:30 P.M.
This week has been a really good week for Stacey, she has had her moments but really she has made more improvements. She has had lots of friends come by from Washington to see her bringing her flowers and just visiting. One of her friends Molly and Heather stopped by which are usual visitors, Stacey takes real well with them, last week when Molly was here is when Stacey started saying she was thirsty, this week she has been admiring Molly's class ring this time she actually took it off Molly's finger and put it on hers. Heather put her bracelet on her and she was pretty happy with all of it. This week for Mrs. Melony she written her whole name it was all over the page but she did the whole name she also spelled the F word, but we will take it. We finally got our appointment for the MRI it will be done March 21, this will be a busy Month for us but hopefully with all your prayers we will get a lot done. March 14 Th we go for the Neropyscologist for her evaluation to see if she is up to par for Rehab. March 19Th we go see the doctor to see if the Neropyscologist gave us the thumbs up for Rehab and when we can start, and then March 21st for the MRI to see how everything is healing. and make sure nothing else is going on or that shouldn't be there. So please keep saying your prayers for us, she is continuing to make improvements, thanks to all of your prayers and the continuous support of her friends and Mrs. Melony. Also Friday night I took Stacey out for a drive we went over to Sullivan to see my sister, she has not been able to get out because of a bad knee so we went over there and she did real good, she stayed calm and even set up straight in the seat, I was really proud of her. But I know it did her good to, just being in the house all the time, she was never one to sit still long especially in the house she was always on the go. Stacey's oldest brother will be coming home March 26Th so I will have more help, I can't wait and neither can he. He has not been able to see her since all of this happened so he is glad to be coming home to see her and help out where it is needed. Thank You for all your prayers and support. God Bless.
