Stacy's Condition, Aug 22, 2006

Stacy is still unconcious and in critical condition. They are trying to ween her off the ventillator but she is still dependent on it as of now. The doctors have taken her off of sedation and have lowered her pain medicine in an attempt to wake her. She is moving more but as yet is considered nonresponsive. She still has the chest tube in her side for her lung but there are plans to see if it can be removed in the near future. Her spleen was lacerated in the accident but is contained and the doctors have decided it is best to leave it to heal on it's own. She has a bruised kidney and adrenial gland but kidney function is good so they are keeping an eye on it but are not concerned. The tentative scedule is that on thursday they are going to work on her left upper arm to set the bone and close the wounds.
